TBDP - Help Manual
Here is a method to simulate a
3-point hydroplane design setup, using TBDP. Model a foreward sponson, 3-pt
hydro design by setting tunnel height to 0.0 inches, and AngleInc to the
appropriate angle (degrees) to match
the height of the sponson height at
their trailing edge. (When calculating the AngleInc, use the Length from hull
aft trailing edge to the foreward sponson trailing edge).
Lift and drag components will be only approximate, but will be quite representative and very helpful in optimizing design.
[Note: TBDP is best applied to tunnel hull, power catamaran and modified vee hull designs, but is also used for performance analysis of 3-point hydros.]
